SENECA — A city official expressed optimism Tuesday night that the four-plus-year effort by Seneca to receive its reimbursement from the tornado that ripped through Seneca in April 2020 will be finished soon.

SENECA — As members of the Marine Corps League in Seneca and other volunteers prepared for their Christmas toy distribution with help from volunteers from Westminster Baptist Church on Wednesday, 89-year-old Don Alexander's thoughts turned toward two weeks into the future — Christmas morning.

WALHALLA — A United States Homeland Security official made a trip to the Oconee County Law Enforcement Center on Friday morning to meet and talk to Cpl. Lucas Watts, who is continuing to recover from injuries from a Nov. 16, 2023, shooting by a suspect he was pursuing.
