William H. Flick, 82, of Butler, died Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1942, in Rimersburg, Pa Clarion County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harry D. Flick and Helen L. Bowers. William married his high school sweetheart, Diana C. Davis on November 13, 1963. He retired from Penn Dot after being employed with them for over 35 years. He worked hard for his family and never took anything for himself. William was the last founding member of the Church of God of Prophecy on Mercer Road, Butler, Pennsylvania where he spent years working and helping the church grow. He attended the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, Tennessee and became an ordained deacon. Victor Floyd Leithold, Jr., 95, of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 4, 2024, after living a full and happy life. He was born on November 2, 1929, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to the late Victor F., Sr. and Rose (Portman) Leithold. Vic owned oil wells, real estate, and worked as Superintendent for T.W. Phillips Oil & Gas Co. for 50 years before retiring in 2003.

Russell W. “Russ” Luellen Jr., 79, of Butler, formerly of Parker, a retired school teacher and real estate agent, passed away Friday evening, December 6, 2024 while in the company of his loving family at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Jose “Che” Gonzalez Perez, 69, of Petrolia, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at his home. He was the son of the late Reimundo and Susanna Perez Gonzalez, he was born on October 10, 1955, in Cidra, Puerto Rico.

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day 29-10 and the Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans 31-2. The Steelers are now in second place in the AFC North. The Chiefs clinched the number one seed and first round bye for the playoffs with the win. The Steelers will host the Cincinnati Bengals January 5th to close out the regular season.

The Pittsburgh Panthers lost their 6th game in a row to end their season at 7 and 6 in the GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit Thursday night. The Toledo Rockets scored in the sixth overtime and then stopped Pitt for the 48-46 win. Freshman Julian Dugger went 7 of 13 with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception and Desmond Reid rushed for 165 yards on 32 carries for the Panthers, Toledo quarterback Tucker Gleason threw 2 touchdowns and had 1 interception on 26 of 50 throws, Junior Vandross III caught 12 of those passes for 194 yards. The Toledo Rockets finish 8-5.

According to the 9-1-1 Communications Center a number of fire departments were called to a mobile home fire Friday afternoon. The call came in around 4:20pm and was contained by 5pm. The mobile home at 225 Cheeseman Road in Muddy Creek Township was a total loss.
