Young Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy struck his first Test hundred on the third day of the fourth Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday.

Unlike its previous two tours of Australia, India has struggled to get going Down Under this time around. With a 184-run loss in Melbourne, a series win in Australia is now out of scope. The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have failed with the bat and there have been little to show from the bowling department too sans Jasprit Bumrah. Amid a gloomy show in Australia, there have been a few players who have put their hands up and come up with great to good performances that has at least given India a chance to draw the series in Sydney. Here is a look at five such individuals and their performances in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series.

It is the fifth time in the series that India have been bowled out on a score of below 200 in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series.

The wicketkeeper struck the second fastest half-century by an Indian batsman in Tests. Pant's entertaining knock comprised of six fours and four sixes. It came at a stage of the Indian innings when the team was struggling at 78/4.

For the first time in 10 years Australia have managed to beat India in a Test series. The series win has helped Australia reclaim the Border-Gavaskar trophy from India.

The man who managed to pull-off the feat is nearly half the age of Djokovic. Nishesh Basavareddy's inexperience in professional tennis did reflect in the later stages of the match as Djokovic bounced back to win next three sets to seal the match for a 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-2 victory. Thus ended Basavareddy's maiden appearance in a Grand Slam's main draw. But the American did manage to earn praise from one of the greatest player of the sport.
