DONS Southern Social, chef Joshua Garland’s speakeasy-style restaurant on Central Avenue in Hot Springs, has closed. A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page Thursday night thanked the restaurant’s staff and the city of Hot Springs for support over the last two years.

Little Rock hip-hop comedy group Futuro Boots is playing its annual holiday show at White Water Tavern on Saturday night, fresh off the debut of a catchy new single “Christmas Stalkin,’” which features guest vocals from 2009 “American Idol” winner and Arkansas native Kris Allen.

“We are fighting for better pay, better staffing, better treatment of all of our employees nationally and worldwide,” barista Elio Thompson said.

Flyway Brewing will open its long-awaited West Little Rock taproom in the Breckenridge Village shopping center on Friday, Dec. 26, and the food menu will include Detroit-style pizza.

Cava, the fast casual Mediterranean restaurant chain, is planning to open its first Central Arkansas outlet in West Little Rock at 12318 Chenal Parkway, in the building that formerly housed the quick-service stir fry restaurant Genghis Grill.
