We have “equinoxed” out, and finally, here on Monday it feels like spring, with surf and sound again flirting with 60 degrees.

Spring is a special time of year, a reawakening of the somewhat winter dormant fishing season.

Although not the rocky coast of Maine, we’ve got rocks here too, both near and offshore ledges.

Beach vehicle driving ends here in Emerald Isle on April 30 each year, coinciding with the beginning of sea turtle nesting and hatching season along our beaches, which runs May 1-Oct. 31 (eiseaturtlepatrol.org).

The seesaw weather continues at this time.

Some weeks, it’s just best to look around and see what’s goin’ on.
