The teacher, Dobyns-Bennett High School German instructor Jana Engle, was honored twice by the Kingsport City Schools Board of Education.

They range from family life education to grading policies, with the former via Tennessee law requiring sex and family life education at allowable grade levels include a video of a developing fetus. The Tennessee Board of Education has banned a minimum grade of more than zero.
