Ford marked a major milestone in its work with Michigan Central. The company celebrated this week as its Model e (electric vehicles) and Integrated Services started to the move into the Station.
This week, officials celebrated the grand opening of the first development from Flux City Development. The Ribbon, which includes 18 apartments and community space, is now open on East Warren.
The Michigan Strategic Fund today approved nearly $19 million in incentives for one of the largest redevelopment projects in Detroit. The Fisher Body Plant, or the Fisher 21 Lofts, will convert the massive former auto plant into 433 apartments, along with retail and co-working space. The state approved an $8.5 million performance-based loan, a $1.5 million performance-based grant, and a Brownfield tax capture for about $8.7 million for the $155 million project.
A project that's been in the works for seven years broke ground today downtown. The Reckmeyer Residences will bring a new nine-story building combined with historic facades to Broadway.
Last night, developers presented plans to the public for the restoration of the Belle Isle Boathouse. The historic building could see two restaurants, over 100 slips for boats, a revived event space, and outdoor space for the public.
A new building is now open in the North End, bringing 29 apartments to the neighborhood. The Beauton is a $7.3 million project at Horton and Beaubien.
Following the recent groundbreaking of the Reckmeyer Residences , Bedrock today announced more details on their redevelopment of the neighboring building. The Belle will be a mixed-use development along a very busy Broadway St. downtown.
