A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for the entire day for Thursday due to the threat of elevated fire danger. Red flag warnings are posted for almost all of KOTA Territory with low relative humidity values and breezy conditions settling in. Do your part in preventing wildfires. Thursday, temperatures reach the upper 90s in Rapid City. Multiple schools across KOTA Territory are releasing early due to the record breaking heat. Fire danger is also high throughout the entire day tomorrow. Another First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Sunday for the possibility of fire danger resurging and the potential for more record breaking heat. Dry, hot and breezy conditions are in the forecast once again. Futurecast is showing those relative humidity values are going to be extremely low, meaning it will be very dry both Thursday and Sunday. Wind gusts look to be peaking in the 20 to 30 mph range on Thursday, while peaking in the 30 to 40 mph range on Sunday.
