Mrs. Tine Louise Bakker was born in Westzaan, Netherlands, on Sept. 24, 1927. Her father owned a fabrication plant for cardboard boxes, which remained operational throughout World War II. She remembered running errands for him on her bicycle delivering sugar or flour to the community.

Mr. Norris Ray Beasley, 84, loving husband of Sue C. Beasley and lifelong resident of Onancock, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024. Born Oct. 19, 1940, he was the only child of the late Horace “Ray” Beasley and Eugenia Custis Beasley.

Mrs. Shirley Jean Taylor was born on March 15, 1936, to the late Maude and Clifton Lewis. She went to be with her Lord, her daughter, Deborah Taylor Trader, her husband, Wilbert Eugene Taylor, and several beloved brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews on Oct. 19, 2024, with her son and grandson by her side.

Mrs. Anita Carmen Allen, 79, of Accomac, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024. Anita was born on Aug. 22, 1945, in Point Pleasant, N.J., a daughter of Harold and Florence Johnson.

Mr. Thomas Edward Mason Sr., 80, of Chincoteague Island, passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 18, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1944, in Salisbury, Md., but was a proud lifetime resident and businessman on Chincoteague.

Mr. Robert Neil “Bob” Dobbs, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Onancock on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 23, 1937, in Plainfield, N.J., and raised in Miami, Bob was the beloved son of the late Robert Pierson Dobbs and the late Margaret Elizabeth Kennedy Dobbs.

Mr. Henry “Hank” Seldon Jones Jr., age 75, of Cape Charles, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sept. 23, 2024. Born on April 13, 1949, he was the son of the late Henry “H.S.” and Margaret “Maggie” Black Jones. An accomplished marksman, Hank served in the Army National Guard.

Mr. Gordon Lee Sturgis, husband of Faye H. Sturgis, and resident of Exmore, passed away on Oct. 18, 2024. A native of the Eastern Shore, Gordon was the son of the late Stewart Elmer Sturgis Jr. and the late Marion Fletcher Sturgis.
