Philadelphia Union will battle for their first league win of the year against Portland on Saturday after starting off their 2024 Major League Soccer season with three straight draws. But when the team embarks on their trip westward to Oregon on Thursday afternoon, the travel party will be missing eight players due to National Team call-ups.

Philadelphia Union returned to Subaru Park in style, recording their first home win and clean sheet of the regular season in front of a packed afternoon crowd. With goals from Daniel Gazdag and Julian Carranza, the Union defeated what was the top team in the Western Conference 2-0, sending Minnesota United packing with their first loss of the year.

Saturday was a special day at Subaru Park, even before the team secured their first regular season home win of the year against Minnesota United FC. Leading up to first kick, Union faithful celebrated an important milestone for one of their own; Fearless 43 member Charlotte carried out the team’s pregame ritual, striking the drum to ceremoniously mark the end of her chemotherapy treatment.

Philadelphia Union are still undefeated after a comeback draw on the road in Atlanta that finished with a 2-2 scoreline. With the result, the team traveled home with another point added to their total before heading into their bye weekend, where well-deserved rest awaits. Before the flight back to Philly, Head Coach Jim Curtin met with the media, recapping the hard-fought match.

There’s something special happening in Chester, where all three levels of the Philadelphia Union share the same campus for the first time in club history.

Philadelphia Union fell to Real Salt Lake at home on Saturday night after an 89th minute goal from Alexandros Katranis put them ahead 2-1. The result marked their first loss of the season, halting their seven-game unbeaten streak from becoming eight. After the final whistle, Head Coach Jim Curtin met with the media, recapping the night.

Daniel Gazdag hit the back of the net in historic fashion at Subaru Park on Tuesday night, sending the stadium into an eruption of celebration as he etched his name in the club’s record books as its all-time leading goal scorer.

“The one thing that I would say about our family is that we are Philadelphia, through and through. Our boys are all raised Philadelphia proper. We're always in the city. We feel connected to the city itself. We've lived other places, but nothing's been like Philly.”

For the first time in the club's 15-year history, Philadelphia Union will be represented on international sports’ biggest stage as Homegrown players Jack McGlynn and Nate Harriel have been named to the United States Men’s National Team roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

It’s been a special year for Philadelphia Union Homegrown Andrew Rick. So far in 2024, he has signed a first team deal with his boyhood club, earned a high school diploma from YSC Academy, and made his Major League Soccer debut – in that order.
