Four arrested after incident at UAlbany ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Four men in their 20's were arrested after an incident that started on the UAlbany campus early Tuesday morning, August 27, according to UAlbany's University Police Chief, Paul Burlingame. Burlingame said the four men had been banned from the UAlbany campus Monday night. University police tried to stop a vehicle occupied by the four men around 1 a.m., but the vehicle took off, striking the officer who then fired their weapon. “No one was struck by gunfire or otherwise seriously injured during the incident, and there is no ongoing danger to the campus,” said Burlingame in a statement. The vehicle was pursued by police into Albany, ending in the area of Albany Medical Center where the four men were followed on foot and taken into custody. The names of the four men have not been released. “UPD's investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the New York State Police, and the department will provide additional details as soon as it is able,” Burlingame said. “No additional information is available at this time, and charges against the vehicle's occupants are pending.” NewsChannel 13 will continue to follow this story.
