Sandra Foyt is an award-winning travel photographer, freelancer, and content media producer. In addition to publishing the family travel site, Albany Kid, and the guide to romantic getaways, Getaway Mavens, she is a freelance writer with credits in Parade, USA Today, and Huffington Post. This year, Foyt has launched Albany Traveler. Her new book is “100 Things to do in Albany Before You Die” - it is published by Reedy Press.

Lamenting the roll-back on women’s rights around the world, folk singer-songwriter Dawn Landes re-imagines The Liberated Woman’s Songbook in a new album that is available today.First published at the height of the Women’s Liberation Movement, Landes’ revision of the work is a collaboration with producer Josh Kauffman.

Shaker Museum’s first pop-up exhibition of 2024 is entitled “Palm to Poplar: Devotional Labor.” It is an exhibition of original paintings by Caitlin MacBride currently on view in a gallery at Kinderhook Knitting Mill in Kinderhook, New York through April 28.

Sarah has been a public radio producer for over fifteen years. She grew up in Saranac Lake, New York where she worked part-time at Pendragon Theatre all through high school and college. She graduated from UAlbany in 2006 with a BA in English and started at WAMC a few weeks later as a part-time board-op in the control room. Through a series of offered and seized opportunities she is now the Senior Contributing Producer of The Roundtable and Producer of The Book Show. During the main thrust of the Covid-19 pandemic shut-down, Sarah hosted a live Instagram interview program "A Face for Radio Video Series." On it, Sarah spoke with actors, musicians, comedians, and artists about the creative activities they were accomplishing and/or missing.

The Perelman Performing Arts Center, or PAC NYC, is a new home in Manhattan for artists in theater, dance, music, opera, and multi-disciplinary performance from New York and the world. The new building, which opened in the fall, has three intimate, flexible theater spaces which can be combined and configured to create a range of experiences for audiences and artists. Located on the World Trade Center Campus, PAC NYC aims to create community and support the resilience of the city and its people.

On October 3, 2011, Chinese-American Army Pvt. Danny Chen was found dead in a guard tower at his base in Afghanistan. The opera “An American Soldier” is based on his story and the ensuing courts-martial of Chen’s fellow soldiers.
