On June 23, a sign was posted on the front door the Dollar Tree stating that the store has been temporarily closed. Dollar Tree which is located next to Brookshire Brothers at the corner of Wheeler and Gipson here in Jasper was a popular store for low price items, but not since late June.

The Jasper Bulldogs traveled to Carthage on Friday to play the #1 ranked 4A Division 1 team in the state of Texas. The Carthage Bulldogs thrilled their fans who were celebrating homecoming as they ran and passed their way to victory over Jasper.

A football game is 4 quarters, and the final outcome is a collection of everything that happens during the course of the game, but every play matters and can be the difference between a win or a loss. Jasper had one of those plays and on Friday night turning the outcome and sending Jasper to defeat in their first district game against the West Orange-Stark Mustangs.

Every school except the area 1A district is now into district play. The games count now and each and every week the playoffs get closer, and teams must win to get in. This week there were plenty of great games with some big rivalries and even now some of the teams are beginning to separate themselves from other schools in their districts.
