Hello, Winter! The Winter season officially arrives on Saturday at 4:21 a.m. and it will feel like it this weekend with highs in the 20s and overnight lows in the teens.

Friday night into Saturday, a band of lake effect will develop off of Lake Erie and Lake Huron and is expected to bring several inches of snow in some spots.

The snow on the ground is going to melt with temps in the upper 30s.

Showers with a few pockets of moderate to heavy rain will move in after 8 a.m. and continue through the early afternoon.

Multiple rounds of snow will impact Northeast Ohio through the upcoming weekend.

Although the heaviest snow and greatest travel impacts will stay well south of the area, this storm system will still bring in widespread light snow today.

More chances for snow showers stay in the 8-day forecast as the pattern remains active.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is now in effect for several NE Ohio counties until 4 a.m. on Friday.

Northeast Ohio, along with most of the country, is gearing up for an arctic blast early next week, bringing the coldest air we’ve seen so far this season.

The coldest of the cold is behind us, at least for this stretch of bitterly cold weather.
