Caney Fork moves back home It's satisfying to me as the Southern Standard's business reporter to watch a major project go from the initial planning stage to completion. I imagine it's infinitely more satisfying to oversee a project and then enjoy the fruits of that labor.

My wife and I don't take many out-of-state trips together, but when we do, the destination is usually Walt Disney World. And when we go, Ashley likes to dress on theme each day. This has led to a rather large collection of assorted Minnie Mouse ears which she has amassed to properly accent each outfit. This week, it became obvious she is well into the planning stages on our next Disney trip later this year. For two straight days, I returned home to find a package containing another version of Minnie ears on our porch. I'm in no position to judge her collection, even as a portion of our kitchen wall becomes overrun by mouse ears. I'm no stranger to frivolous collections myself.

The Candy Lady open for business A love of sweet treats and a desire for a fresh start in a small town have combined to the benefit of locals looking for another eating option. Michelle Hubbell, known as "The Candy Lady," and her husband Eric Uecker, originally from Connecticut, were looking for a small community to join, and McMinnville fit the bill.

Something Warren countians have known for years was confirmed Saturday night. The Warren County Agriculture & Livestock Fair has been judged the best fair its size in the state of Tennessee. During the 103rd Annual Tennessee Association of Fairs (TAF) Convention last weekend, the local fair was awarded the title of 2024 AA Division State Champion Fair.
