Mvskoke students in Bristow recently participated in a make-and-take class. Each student was able to make moccasins and wear them.

This year’s Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration featured many artists, MCN booths and demonstrations for the visitors that came to learn more about the Southeastern Native American tribes.

Oce Vpofv “Hickory Ground” continues to fight or justice for their ancestors in the “Journey For Justice” sponsored by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Hickory Ground members sat down to speak about their experience from the journey, their ground’s oral history, and feelings about traveling back to the site of their original ground.

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Land, Natural Resources, and Cultural Preservation Committee held a meeting on Oct. 21 where they discussed wastewater disposal facilities, newly identified routes and roadways.

Honkv Bash will hold events throughout the day to be enjoyed by all. There will be a spook trail, mushball and horseshoe tournament, carnival games, concession and costume contest.

These cultural learning classes are to spread cultural knowledge. There have been many activities for the adults to learn such as prepping and cooking wild onions, blackberry picking and apron making.

The National Council called a Business, Finance and Justice/Land, Natural Resources and Cultural Preservation session where they discussed contracts with MNGE.

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Land, Natural Resources, and Cultural Preservation Committee held a meeting on Nov. 12 where they discussed a contract for a property.

Annual Christmas carnival featured Christmas themed games, prizes, photo booths and free hot chocolate. There will also be a concert ticket door prize.

MCN Scholarship pageant is now open for applicants. Who will be the next ambassadors for the Nation and hold the title 2025 Miss and Junior Miss MCN? The application deadline will be March 14, 2025 no later than 5:00 p.m.
