Staunton River and William Byrd took the gridiron for the Route 24 Rivalry on Friday night in Moneta that ended in one for the ages. The Golden Eagles came back from a 14-point deficit to take the game into overtime, but the Terriers held on in during the extra period to escape with a 21-20 victory against Staunton River (4-5, 1-3) on Senior Night.

The Eagles, which has held the annual Veterans Day dinner of Veterans Day for year, are a strong supporter of Veterans, the American Legion Post #62. They also support so many other local charities and organizations in our communities, including Lake Christian Ministries, Bedford County Sheriff's Office, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, local fire and rescue departments, Bedford and Franklin County Schools, Food for Kids, Bedford Ride, the National D-Day Memorial, and so many more.
