An important conference starts on July 29 in Orlando, Fla., for independent dealers. It’s called the Independent Home Improvement Conference and it’s taking place at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes resort. It’s a two-day learning and networking event for North American retailers. For the 11th consecutive year, RONA’s employees, vendor partners, and affiliated dealers raised money to fight pedriatic cancer. They raised $415,000 for the Fondation Charles-Bruneau. This year, RONA’s team for the bike ride consisted of 67 cyclists from these groups who biked over 6,000 km together. “I am so proud of the incredible commitment shown by our employees, affiliated dealers, and vendors who came together once again to work towards a healthy future for all children in Québec. The number of cyclists in our network who take part in the Tour every year says a lot about how much we care about this cause. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2026 Tour!” said Amélie Savoie, vice-president, merchandising at RONA inc. and captain of the RONA cycling team for the past five years.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation says it has raised a record $1.384 million through its 2026 Spring Orange Door Project customer fundraising campaign, with donations from customers and store associates across the country. The campaign also introduced its first Double Impact Day, which generated $218,000 in a single day. With matching funds from the foundation, the spring campaign will provide more than $1.727 million in grants to 129 youth-serving charities across Canada, supporting programs that help young people access housing, support services, and other opportunities.

Economists almost universally expect the Bank of Canada to hold its policy rate at 2.25 percent this morning. It has been at 2.25 percent since last October’s announcement. The announcement will come at 9.45 am Eastern Time today.
