A gun was accidentally fired by a school constable in Milford School District Tuesday. School constables are officers whose authority falls somewhere between a security guard and a police officer. They are armed with guns and handcuffs, but can’t make official arrests.
Last month, Milford City Council was presented with a draft ordinance that would ban all marijuana retail outlets in the city except medical compassion centers and grow facilities. This month, a second draft was presented that would permit retail marijuana facilities with restrictions.
At a recent meeting, Milford City Council approved changes to procedures during meetings. These changes impact public comment, agenda items and the rules council will follow in the meeting.
Milford City Council recently approve two resolutions in preparation for possible issuance of debt related to a new water tower and the Milford Corporate Center. The cost of the water tower is estimated to be just over $7 million and would require a referendum.
