A former professor in Michigan State University’s Department of Management says the department chair and his predecessor racially discriminated against her for years.

Michigan State University’s student-led newspaper has won its lawsuit against MSU, which argued the university had unfairly redacted the names of individuals mentioned in public records.

Michigan State University paid the Department of Education nearly $3 million in July after failing to meet federal requirements meant to provide special oversight of its financial and administrative affairs.

Gannett Co., the mass media company that owns USA TODAY, is suing MSU for redacting information in a public records request about a woman reporters believe is "another possible victim of Tucker's sexual misconduct."

At its first meeting of the school year, the Michigan State University Board of Trustees approved a new sports arena in South Neighborhood, the construction of a laboratory building for students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and renovations to Anthony Hall.

Michigan State University will not impose a time limit for public comment at board meetings, something trustees had previously discussed. Trustee Dianne Byrum said the board listened to the public's backlash against the possibility in June.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Wednesday that her investigation into MSU's handling of Larry Nassar has concluded. The 6,000 long-withheld additional documents relating to the scandal, which were handed over to Nessel in March, contained information that was "embarrassing" for MSU, but not "incriminating."
