Red-zone defense: Detroit entered the game No. 3 in the NFL in red-zone defense, allowing a touchdown just 42.9 percent of the time this season. They improved that number by holding the Colts to 0-2 Sunday in a 24-6 win. The Lions do a great job shutting down the run in the red zone and that's where everything starts for them. Lions head coach Dan Campbell said defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn puts a lot of detail into red zone situations during the week. It's certainly showing.

The Detroit Lions will be without starters on both sides of the football today for their annual Thanksgiving Day Classic. Cornerback Carlton Davis III and left tackle Taylor Decker are inactive and won't play today as the Lions welcome Chicago to Ford Field.

We've reached Week 16 of the NFL season and that means there's only three games remaining in the regular season to determine how things finish in the NFC North. Detroit and Minnesota are tied atop the division at 12-2 with Green Bay still alive but needing help. While out of the race for the playoffs and division title, Chicago is still a factor with games against Detroit and Green Bay in their final three.
