Erie County is no stranger to winning soccer and girls volleyball state championships. Since 2009, the county has competed for five state championships in girls volleyball with Fort LeBoeuf (2012) and Corry (2016) winning titles. The county has competed for 11 championships in boys and girls soccer with Cathedral Prep boys (2023), Mercyhurst Prep girls (2010, 2017) and Villa Maria girls (2015) all winning titles. Saturday, however, could be a historic day for Erie County as three teams will compete for state championships in the two sports.

The depth of talent for Grove City's boys cross country team was evident well before the last runner crossed the finish line for the PIAA's Class 2A state championship race.

Led by a pair of District 10 first-team all-stars, Cathedral Prep capped the local girls cross country season with a state title.

McDowell's Tyler Grove, the District 10 boys basketball player of the year last winter, is gone to graduation and is playing basketball at IUP. With Grove's departure, the field is wide open for the next D-10 player of the year.

District 10 is once again loaded with talented girls basketball players this winter. From defending District 10 Player of the Year in senior Layke Fields at Kennedy Catholic to fellow Division I recruit Addie Biel at Cathedral Prep. More players are already over 1,000 career points and others are being recruited by colleges as well.

For the first time in nearly a decade, District 10 had a shakeup in officers on the D-10 Committee.

The District 10 boys high school basketball season is underway, with teams hoping to win region and district titles before heading to the PIAA state tournament.

The District 10 girls soccer season ended with another team competing for a PIAA championship. Cathedral Prep made its way to Cumberland Valley High School before losing a heartbreaker in double overtime. Nearly every District 10 championship match was between two Erie County teams as the north had another big year in girls soccer.
