This season of Survivor has been absolutely outstanding. It's only five episodes in, but it's already feeling like a vintage Survivor season instead of the new era bullshit we've been seeing since 41. Last night was a particularly strong episode, ending with one of the best blindsides we've seen in a long time.

Marty is a groomsman in a wedding. Ev is on the road at the CFB Show. So we had to bring in a big dog for the stream. Someone who lives and breathes Yankee baseball.

Every Sunday morning during the NFL season, I'll be blogging the stats I used on Barstool Sports Advisors that week, plus some other ones I found from my research for each game we covered. Whenever I pour through the data each week, I try to separate the meaningful trends from the nonsensical ones. For example, a team with a really good ATS record against a specific division (not their own)? Probably doesn't matter that much. Teams are always changing, and there's nothing that suggests all the same teams in a division play a certain way or anything. But a coach being really good off a bye week? That says something. A team covering a lot as a road dog? Probably means they're being consistently undervalued. League wide trends that hold steady across hundreds of matchups spanning years and years? Those are gold. So you have to look at every stat individually and decide if it matters.

I woke up today feeling actually optimistic about the New York Yankees. The first two games in LA were brutal, but all hope is not completely lost. The Yankees came back from down 2-0 in the 1996 World Series. We've got three games back in the Bronx. The Dodgers may leave Walker Buehler out to dry tonight to save their relievers for their bullpen game tomorrow. We've got Gerrit Cole lined up for a potential Game 5. Ohtani may not be 100%. So maybe, just maybe, this series is not completely over.

We just had the Yankee fan who saved their season with the Mookie Betts interference play in the Barstool office and he was INCREDIBLE. Literally couldn't have created a better stereotypical scumbag Yankee fan in a lab than this guy. And when I say "scumbag" I mean that in the most loving and endearing way possible. This guy is everything that a Yankee should fan be. A loud, passionate, Italian greaseball who will do anything it takes to help the team win. We just did a full interview with him linked above that'll be out everywhere else soon and as he told us, "I wasn't trying to get the ball or to hurt him, I was just trying to extend the at-bat." And if you can't respect that, then I don't respect you.

For the 15th straight year, the Yankees season has ended in failure. I don't care that they won the AL East. I don't care that they had the best record in the AL. I don't even care that they made the World Series. As George Steinbrenner said, any season that doesn't with a championship is a failure. And we've now had 15 failures in a row.
