Richmond Raceway has been a staple in the NASCAR Cup Series, hosting two races annually since 1958, except for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This September, the Richmond Public Library System is celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month, encouraging residents to visit one of the nine neighborhood branches to obtain a library card. A library card provides access to a wide array of resources, from the latest books to programs tailored for all ages.

“I’m excited to be breaking ground on this game-changing asset for the Richmond region,” said Mayor Levar Stoney. “With this intentional investment, the region is solidifying itself as the premier destination for outdoor recreational activity in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Fall Line trail provides the City with another tool in the toolbox to build upon our national profile as the best place to live, do business and raise a family.”

The Byrd Theatre Foundation has launched the Pull Up a Seat campaign to fund replacement seats in the side sections of the auditorium and the balcony, removing the old, narrow seats and installing new, wider seats. This project will include the construction of two additional ADA-accessible platforms for expanded accessibility and companion seating.

A spectacular lineup of musical and artistic talent will take the stage at the RVA East End Festival on Sat., Sept. 21 from Noon-9 p.m. at Chimborazo Park, 3215 E. Broad Street.

According to the latest data from the Virginia Tourism Corporation, consumer spending by visitors in the Richmond region’s seven jurisdictions in 2023 totaled a record $3.7 billion, jumping 7.4% compared to the previous year.
