"Career and music and all that is not promised," the country star tells PEOPLE. "And so, I definitely want to invest in things that I know will always be here"

The song is "about how you sometimes have to climb mountains to find the light," the singer-songwriter, who has since welcomed a son, tells PEOPLE

"'Piano Piano 2' serves as a sort of resume to any potential directors that would ever want some cool instrumental type stuff for their movie," the musician explains

"Writing the song wasn't something that I consciously was trying to do," the country star tells PEOPLE. "It was just something that sort of came out"
