Fiesta in Florissant takes place at the Knights of Columbus Park, located at 50 St. Francois Street in Florissant near the corner of Lindbergh and Washington St. The event will take place on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Imagine going on a wildlife safari and not even leaving St. Louis. In 2027, that exotic excursion will be available right in North St. Louis County. The Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park, a safari park and conservation center, is under development and will offer the public an authentic expedition experience.

Nonprofit organization offers programming to help others who have experienced trauma find peace and hope By Wendy Todd, Staff Writer

At 24 years old, Arriel Biggs survived non-Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer. She went on to get married and started building a family with her husband and living a healthy life. Then at 35, Biggs received another diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer. Doctors attributed the development to the radiation she'd undergone previously and the stress she was experiencing juggling life and entrepreneurship.

To raise funds for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, the organization is holding its nationwide 7th Annual Strollathon this Saturday, Oct. 19. The event will be held at the JCC St. Louis at 2 Millstone Campus Dr., St. Louis. Registration starts at 1 p.m. with the one-mile walk beginning at 2 p.m.

One of the institutions the nonprofit has provided funding to is St. Louis Children's Hospital. The Take Part Foundation donated $100,000 to St. Louis Children's Hospital over the summer to support patients with rare pediatric diseases and help fund genetic testing. The donation followed the organization's first fundraising gala in partnership with Wine Women and Shoes St. Louis over the spring.

St. Louis will have a new Missouri National Guard readiness center which will be housed in the Bellefontaine neighborhood. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Bellefontaine Neighbors National Guard readiness center took place on September 23, with Governor Mike Parson and the Missouri National Guard Adjutant General Levon Cumpton in attendance.
