O ne of the big differences between men and women that I have observed is that women tend to magnify problems while men downplay them.

Workers at the new Rumble Road Buc-ee's have removed part of the giant 50-foot erosion wall and removed truckloads of dirt as they aim to repair drainage issues that have dogged the wall. Monroe County community development director Kelsey Fortner said Buc-ee's construction company J. Raymond now says it will likely have to build a second erosion wall. Fortner said Buc-ee's is waiting on their engineer to approve the new drainage plans for the wall. Now, said Fornter, instead of diverting rainwater east toward I-75, they'll instead aim to divert it west toward the retention pond. County building inspector Tyler Adams met with the Buc-ee's construction folks last week to discuss the issue. Crews have removed the corner of the giant retaning wall to get to the dirt they must remove to redo the drainage. Buc-ee's has built most of its stores in Texas and dryer, flatter parts of the South. Perhaps they are not be used to the hills and rainfall of Monroe County. On a brighter note, workers have erected the walls of the actual store, a big step toward their 2027 opening.
