Every week, there are good and fun plays that happen, but we don’t always get a chance to dive into all of them. We’re focused on themes and the overall gameplan and whatnot, meaning these plays don’t always get their day in the sun. In this space, we’re just gonna fly through a handful of fun plays from this past weekend.

Week 12 is over, and for your steam-powered power rankings, Peter has you covered somewhere on this site, but over on this side we’re trying something a little different. This is the steampunk version, and we’re using our modern turbine-based technology to generate objective rankings. Power rankings are all about arguing about why they’re wrong, and it’s one thing to be subjectively wrong like Peter, and it’s quite another to be objectively wrong. And so, in the spirit of being objectively wrong we have created C.A.L.C.U.L.A.T.O.R., the Comprehensive Analysis of League Competition Using Latest Analytics To Organize Rankings.

In Week 8, the Washington Commanders waived 2021 first-round pick Jamin Davis after an unsuccessful transition to the edge in Dan Quinn’s system. A week later, Davis joined the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad as a linebacker, the position he was drafted to play coming out of the University of Kentucky.

Neither the Green Bay Packers nor their opponent this week, the Miami Dolphins, held a practice on Monday, but each held a walkthrough on Tuesday. Because of this, both teams are putting together estimated participation reports, rather than an injury report based on actual practice participation this week.

The Miami Dolphins will have a new backup quarterback option against the Green Bay Packers as they have activated Tyler Huntley, who might be best known for making a Pro Bowl in 2022 as Lamar Jackson’s backup in Baltimore, to the active roster. Huntley was previously placed on the injured reserve for a shoulder injury back in Week 7.
