Webbs Reserve Golf Club, a new 18-hole Nicklaus-design in Punta Gorda, Fla., is the centerpiece of a community currently under development by Lennar. The 18-hole course will be complemented by amenities such as an aqua driving range, covered and open pickleball courts, tennis courts, a fitness center, a resort-style swimming pool, two-story bar and grill, eight Toptracer bays and much more.

Key upgrades at the San Angelo, Texas club include resurfacing greens, reshaping subgrades to create more strategic pin placements, and introducing TifTuf Bermuda grass to the fairways and approaches. The club’s ownership has allocated $9.5 million to facility enhancements over the past decade.

The restoration project at Crown Colony Country Club in Lufkin, Texas addressed significant wear and tear on the greens, which required a full replacement of the underlying surfaces. Other changes include a reduction in the number of sand traps, making the course easier to maintain.

The enlarged facility—growing from 65,000 sq. ft. to 71,000 sq. ft.—includes a new dining venue, Artisan; the Medjools Sweet Shop; and Skinny Palms poolside bar. A new aquatics center with a zero-entry/beach walk-in pool, sun shelves and more; and a 3,000 sq. ft. racquets shop were also added.

The Hub, a vibrant café designed exclusively for employees of the Boynton Beach, Fla., club, can seat 54 employees, more than doubling the capacity of the old cafeteria, which could accommodate only 24.

The Institute Golf Club in San Martin, Calif., enlisted 54 with the responsibility of establishing high standards in agronomy, operational efficiency and membership experience.

The member-owned Chesterfield, Va., club enlisted Mike Hatch and his firm to manage the club. Hatch, who also operates nearby Birkdale Golf Club and Brandermill Country Club, assumed operational control earlier this month.
