Sean “Diddy” Combs has been indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution following his arrest. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams addressed reporters in a press conference on Sept. 17 to explain the allegations, which include claims that Combs allegedly “abused and exploited women and other people for years, and in a variety of ways.” The indictment claims that Combs allegedly organized “sexual performances” known as “freak offs” and allegedly forced women to participate with male commercial sex workers. Prosecutors claim that the hip-hop mogul allegedly used drugs and violence to intimidate the women. Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, denied the allegations in a statement, saying he and his team are “disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs,” adding that the rap entrepreneur “is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal.” Combs was scheduled to be arraigned in New York City hours after the press conference.
