A sigh of relief for inflation-stricken masses as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led government on Sunday announced massive reduction in petrol and diesel prices from September 16 for the next fornight.

Expressing his thoughts, Sanjrani said: "The government has informed us about the key clauses in line with the constitutional amendment bill. We will make the decision after the special committee meeting.

Speaking to media in Islamabad Haideri said: “We do not have received the constitutional amendment bill as of now. How can we opt to cast a vote without seeing the bill?”

According to details, the federal cabinet, which was slated to be held at 8:00 pm, had not been started. Sources divulged that the meeting will start soon. Meanwhile, the Senate session, which was expected to start at 4:00 pm, is also likely to be delayed due to the National Assembly soon.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that Maulana Fazlur Rehman did not support the government's constitutional amendments, contributing to the delay in legislation. Expressing his thoughts, Haideri said, “Was the government not providing us the draft if it really belonged to it? [government].”

According to details, the meeting of the parliament's special committee, chaired by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) stalwart Khursheed Shah had ended without any outcome.

Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV following the parliament sessions were postponed, Khan said: “In the in-camera briefing, all the things cannot be discussed. You [government] are not having the mandate pertaining to the judiciary. We want to hold talks on this.”
