As a civilian, I want to report a violation of the DEI ban: The hiring of Pete Hegseth to lead the Department of Defense is a DEI hire. He was not hired based on merit. The Senate violated the DEI ban by hiring an incompetent manager who ran two nonprofits into the ground. His personal behavior is also questionable, since he has been accused of abusing both women and alcohol. What message does the hiring of Pete Hegseth tell us? It tells us that neither the Trump administration nor the Senate respect the U.S. military and it makes our military look weak. This is abhorrent! Both the Trump administration and the Senate should suffer consequences for their DEI hire, not the country.

Please stand up for those who have crossed illegally into the U.S., while pushing out "hard" criminals back to their countries. U.S. companies that need immigrants, migrants, refugees in their workforce should stand up and get them work visas plus permanent resident cards. All kids born in the U.S. are U.S. citizens, regardless of their parents' status. There is no invasion at our southern border. The military should not be down there helping with anything. ICE should not enter churches, schools, hospitals, etc. to arrest and deport whomever it likes. All white people in the U.S. have immigrant, migrant, refugee relatives. How would you like it if your relatives had been treated as the Trump regime is now treating those it's targeting and deporting? The U.S. plus many other countries should focus on where those migrants and refugees are from and push those countries toward democracy, offering them assistance to eliminate drug cartels, etc. so that with better education, more money, security, fair elections and better economics, many of those people would remain in their own countries and not head for our southern border. Instead of threatening Canada, Mexico, Greenland, China, etc. the Trump regime could be proposing fair trading policies such that workers in all countries could make a decent living. Mr. Trump, obviously, needs a lot of therapy and help to become a negotiator and a diplomat instead of someone who is anti-trans, anti-gay, anti-Democrat, anti-global warming solutions...someone who said that valves in northern California should be turned on.

He is angry, autocratic, chaotic, combative, compassionless, corrupt, criminal, deceitful, disorganized, entitled, haughty, immoral, imperialistic, impulsive, intimidating, misogynistic, narcissistic, narrow-minded, privileged, remorseless, resentful, self-centered, sexist, stubborn, uncooperative, uninformed, untruthful, vindictive. More than half of American voters voted for him. What is wrong with our country? Can American democracy survive?
