The long-distance trains have mainly five to six kinds of coaches - general class, sleeper, 3rd AC, 3rd AC Economy, 2nd AC and 1st AC. Of these, Sleeper, 3rd AC and 3rd AC Economy have middle berth provisions - it means, one compartment has six seats - three on each side and two on the corridor side namely side lower and side upper.
