FARMINGTON – Something’s afoot, and the butler didn’t do it! Sandy River Players present Something’s Afoot, a comedy musical which takes a satirical look at classic ‘whodunit’ stories such as Agatha Christie’s novels. Mystery, intrigue, an old spark rekindled and a new flame of romance just beginning are all wrapped in a delectable soundtrack performed by a live orchestra.

FARMINGTON – “Saving time saves lives!” Seven bright young minds were recognized for their inventions in a special assembly at the Cascade Brook School in Farmington on Thursday.

FARMINGTON – A local cast will present one of John Cariani’s plays, Last Gas, at the Emery Community Arts Center on May 17, 18, and 19.

CARRABASSETT VALLEY – The Carrabassett Valley selectboard unanimously approved the hire of Garrett Corbin as the new town manager. Town Manager Dave Cota, who has served in that capacity for the last twenty-four years, will retire in June.

WILTON – At The Studio, a locally-owned gym in downtown Wilton, the approach to health and wellness is both passionate and compassionate. The Studio offers programs with three different trainers, and a new expansion will open up a 24-hour gym for independent workouts.

STARKS – Diversification, sustainability, and community are part of the foundation on which Martin Woods Farm is built. Owned and operated by the Martins: Bud, Sarah, and their son, Coleman, Martin Woods Farm is well-known for their equestrian services such as horsemanship, riding lessons, and trail rides, but that’s not all they offer.

SALEM TOWNSHIP – The gymnasium at Mount Abram High School was packed with more than six hundred guests for the Class of 2024 graduation ceremony Friday night.

PHILLIPS - Thursday night, the MSAD 58 School Board voted, 10 to 1 with some members absent, to ratify the contract between the Mt. Abram Teachers’ Association and the school district. This contract has been under confidential negotiations, however, when the contract was presented to members of the association for review, that confidentiality was breached.

FARMINGTON – After nearly two decades, the popular program “Talkin’ Maine” hosted by Mount Blue Community Access TV will air the final episode of the series on Sunday, June 23, at 6 p.m.

FARMINGTON – Thanks to the hard work of a number of folks, along with a very generous donation from Dick Bjorn and the Bjorn Foundation, the Bjorn Center for Career and Technical Education is nearly complete and will be ready for students this fall. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday.
