CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Storms are going to fire up this afternoon across Wyoming and some may be strong to severe. Looking at our severe risk for today, the Casper area is going to avoid most of the storm development and it’ll likely just be a rainy day with a few rumbles of thunder. For us in Cheyenne and especially to our east, things will be very different. Storms are going to start developing around noon in Carbon and Albany counties then move their way east into a more favorable environment for storms to get stronger. The main threats of these storms is going to be very heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and frequent lightning.
