Now that it's clear Virginia's congressional districts will remain intact for this year's midterm elections, seven Democrats hope to be the one to challenge U.S.

The candidates at a 1st Congressional District forum expressed regret at the bitter turn that modern politics has taken and indicated they were prepared to shrug off personal attacks and focus instead on policy.

JAMES CITY — The James City County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday will vote on a proposal for a new development that could bring approximately 700 new homes and more than 46,500 square feet of commercial space to the county.

The board of supervisors will vote on The Bluffs of Kiskiack, a 704-home mixed-use community surrounding the presidents’ heads in Croaker — giant concrete busts of U.S. presidents that once made up an attraction near Water Country USA.

Democrats think that 2026 will be the year they can break Rep. Rob Wittman’s 10-term incumbency.
