In their study published in the journal Social Science & Medicine, Tom VanHeuvelen, Xiaowen Han and Jane VanHeuvelen analyzed data mortality rates tabulated in the Panel Study of Income Dynamics and calculated the impacts on longevity for people who belong to unions.
