Mexican Restaurant Planning Second Location for Harlem, Less Than a Year After Opening

You gotta strike while the iron is caliente, as they say…. After opening its doors in the Bronx in September 2025, Viva Café is an all-day Mexican restaurant that is already planning a second location. According to a filing with Community Board 11, an upcoming location of Viva Café is being planned for 2018 3rd Ave. in East Harlem. The owners are seeking a full liquor license for the restaurant, which has a seating capacity of 70 guests, including bar seating. The restaurant is slated to be open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. during most of the week and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. An opening date has not been announced, and What Now New York has reached out for more information.
