After being presented with the proposed 2024-25 draft budget for the county Monday, Lincoln County commissioners took a closer look at four specific department budgets during a work session later in Monday's regular meeting.

Plan “A” would include a 1.5% increase in the district's tax request, plan “B” includes no tax request increase and plan “C” would contain a 4% decrease in tax request.

Commissioners will also consider holding a public hearing for the 2024-25 budget at 11 a.m. on Sept. 23.

Out of the chutes and into Wild West Arena, the Mid-Plains Community College Stampede kicked off Thursday night with a nail-biting performance.

The meeting will start at 12:15 p.m. and will be held at the ESU 16 Special Services Center located at 1221 W 17th St. in North Platte.

The Friday night event in the Canteen Room at the North Platte Playhouse featured several guest presenters who spoke about the impact of the Hispanic population on North Platte and beyond, as well as how diversity makes a community stronger.
