HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WAFF ) - Numerous North Alabama High Schools participated in an area High School Football Media Day at Toyota Field, home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas.

The annual Football in the South Media Days kicked off with over 60 teams meeting with media members over a two day period.

) - The Rocket City Trash Pandas (11-12, 46-45) built a five-run lead before surviving a ninth-inning Knoxville rally to earn a 6-5 victory over the Smokies (12-11, 50-42) on Wednesday night at Toyota Field. With the win, Rocket City evened the six-game series at one game apiece, snapped a three-game losing streak, and improved to 13-2 on Wednesdays this season, including 8-0 at home.

) - The Rocket City Trash Pandas (12-12, 47-45) picked up their first walk-off victory of the 2026 season on Thursday night, edging the Knoxville Smokies (12-12, 50-43), 5-4, at Toyota Field.

) - Georgia has been predicted to win the 2026 SEC Championship, according to a preseason poll of those media in attendance covering SEC Football Media Days.

) - Area High School Football teams from Marshall County met with media members to discuss the upcoming season.

) - Area teams from Dekalb County met with local media for the annual Dekalb County High School Football Media Days.
