Chambers County residents will get a chance to have their well water tested for bacteria next month at the Chambers County Community Health and Wellness Center. Containers will be available for pickup from the CCCHWC at 404 Ninth Avenue SW in LaFayette until Nov. 11.

Two Cusseta citizens spoke at the Chambers County Commission meeting on Monday night seeking help stopping a proposed aggregate mining facility and quarry from moving onto a private property on County Road 389. Laura McKay, a landowner, and Robert Gay, from the Cusseta Fire Department, both spoke about the negative impact they foresee the quarry having on the community.

November 5 marks the presidential election but for many counties, there are also important local races. With two contested and several uncontested county races on the ballot, registered voters will be reviewing the Chambers County sample ballot and looking for their local polling place.

The West Point city council reviewed the proposed city budget for 2025 during the work session on Tuesday, which will be a little under $30 million.
