The Beatrice City Council hosted an open house on Thursday evening at the Beatrice Public Library to receive public input on the Dempsters site cleanup.

A Veterans Day program was held at the Hevelone Center in Beatrice High School on Monday morning.

The Beatrice Public Schools Board of Education met for its monthly meeting on Monday evening.

The Beatrice Humane Society hosted “Comedy to the Rescue” on Friday evening at Vintage Venue. The event was a new fundraiser for the shelter.

The 36th Annual Gage County Courthouse Lighting Ceremony will be held Sunday evening beginning around 5:20 on the east side of the courthouse.

Jodi Fakler, language arts teacher at Beatrice Middle School, received the Clabaugh Outstanding Teacher of the Year award on Friday afternoon.
