Ketchikan Youth Court members from Oct. 4 through Oct. 7 attended the United Youth Courts of Alaska conference held in Kodiak, offering them a chance to attend workshops, share stories, ideas, and learn from other youth court programs.

The Ketchikan City Council during a regular meeting Thursday will hear a presentation by Vigor Alaska to update the Council on shipyard operations and will consider approving an amendment to an ordinance concerning criminal trespass as well as a proposed long-term staffing plan for the Ketchikan Public Utilities Electric Division.

The Ketchikan City Council during a regular meeting Thursday unanimously approved an amendment to an ordinance that would, if approved in its second reading, remove the word "private" from the definitions of trespass in an existing city ordinance in order to expand trespass enforcement to public properties.
