Prime 1 Studio announced the release of a a new Square Enix Masterline figure of Aerith from FFVII Rebirth. The new figure will be available in both a regular version for $2,200 / 264,000 yen, or a deluxe edition that costs $2,400 / 286,000 yen.

Game Freak is known as the developer behind the mainline Pokemon series, the studio on odd occasions released a titles outside of the popular monster-collecting franchise. Beast of Reincarnation is the studio’s biggest departure yet. With this new game, it demonstrated its team is capable of very interesting exploration and combat, while also showing the developer is far from maturing in the storytelling department.

Nintendo introduced Hong Hua, a powerful mage that will join forces with Eshmel, the recently revealed new protagonist of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. She will also join the Goddess Fortuna during the second part of the game taking place after the Heroic Games.

A new line of keychains based on various popular Sanrio characters will soon be available in Japan as capsule toys. There will be six keychain toys as part of this new batch of Sanrio merchandise, and they will release on August 13, 2026. [Thanks, PR Times

Cospa announced the release of new merchandise and apparel featuring the popular Tsukihime: A piece of blue glass moon character of Neco Arc, declaring the character as the “God Cat.” The goods are now available for pre-order from the Cospa online store, with their estimated release date set for November 2026. The popular Hunter x Hunter manga will receive a food and merchandise collaboration with the Japanese takoyaki chain Tsukiji Gindaco. The event will be available between August 18 and November 17, 2026. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

Square Enix announced the release of a FFXIV earring based on Emet Selch, as well as perfume based on three of the Jobs in the game. Both the earring and the perfumes are expected to release in Japan on October 15, 2026. Both items are part of a new batch of FFXIV merchandise that will release to mark the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Tokyo, which will be held in the Japanese capital between October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026. The goods will also be available in Japan via the Square Enix e-store online site, though the US one isn’t showing them yet.

Reviving a dormant and beloved franchise comes with risks and expectations. In the case of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the new Genma-slaying romp feels like it fits perfectly alongside the other titles in the series. However, despite appearing 20 years after the last game, this new Onimusha still needs to find its footing.

Spike Chunsoft revealed the new release date for Danganronpa 2×2 as January 14, 2027. A new trailer for the game appeared during the September 2027 Nintendo Direct showcasing some of the new mechanics of the remake.

As the final announcement showcased on the September 2026 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed Kirby and the World Beyond as a new game in the platforming series. The new Kirby game will release on Spring 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, a year which marks the 35th anniversary of Kirby.
