RAPID CITY, S.D.— An organization dedicated to raising awareness about missing Indigenous people has a new home in Rapid City. The Red Ribbon Skirt Society officially opened it's Healing Room at the Minneluzahan Senior Citizen Center Monday. The room is enshrined with red dresses bearing names of missing and murdered Indigenous women, children, and other relatives. The organization moving to Rapid City from Pierre after receiving an invitation from the senior citizen's center.

RAPID CITY, S.D.— A new program is helping Custer County students get a head start on saving for their higher education. The Black Hills Area Community Foundation's Trailhead Scholars program is opening $500 529 college saving accounts for Custer School District kindergartners. The program is open to students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The accounts are provided at no cost until students graduate or earn their GED with the money used for their future education.

United Way of the Black Hills Director of Early Education Hanna Glissendorf says, "She has been able to connect to people either through her music or through her her through her philanthropy. I think this is something that is going to outlive her for sure, and I think it's really cool that she was able to build it in such a way where it doesn't end now that she's gone."
