Chance of severe weather this evening and overnight followed by a much cooler Tuesday

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Storms have already fired up in north central and northeast Kansas this evening. There is a marginal risk of some of these storms becoming severe as they move north out of Kansas into southeast Nebraska. Isolated large hail and severe wind gusts will be possible. This will occur as a warm front begins to lift northward tonight into Wednesday morning. Later overnight, a few lingering thundershowers are expected over eastern areas. Lows tonight will dip back into the 60s.

Quiet and muggy overnight ahead of the risk for severe storms tomorrow afternoon

Lingering showers in the Tri-Cities through 8pm followed by mostly cloudy skies and cool temperatures overnight. Sunny and beautiful weather for the weekend.

A brief warm-up on Saturday ahead of a cold front that will bring pleasantly cooler weather to the area Sunday and Labor Day.
