Lancaster says while the main focus is always learning, she likes to have fun with her students, too. "We have a motto, work hard, play hard," Lancaster said.

Ben Jernigan not only teaches, but he’s also the middle school baseball coach. He says a lot of what he’s doing in the classroom also translates to the field.

Angie Monahan has been teaching for over two decades and says she wants her students to know they can do anything.

Before Effingham County, Kate Schimmel taught in her hometown in Houston County. Now, she says Effingham feels like home.
