Since New Year’s Day is today, we will not be holding jam session. Our next jam session will be on Thursday, Jan. 8. Since Jan. 8 is Elvis’ birthday there will be some decorations and music. Sounds like fun.

A mountain music jam session is held every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and includes acoustic instruments and singers singing bluegrass, country, hymns, ballads and more. Clogging is enjoyed by all and slow dancing too. Refreshments are served at break. There are two opportunities for children to learn a life-long gift at the Cathey's Creek Community Center. Clogging lessons are given by Sammy Simpson at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and followed by adult lessons at 5 p.m. Mountain Strings give free music lessons on Thursdays from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
