The driver of a Volkswagen died in a head-on crash Friday, Aug. 2, in the Loris area, the South Carolina Highway Patrol reports. The crash happened near the intersection of S.C. 9 and Ferrell Road.

A 37-year-old died at the hospital after being pulled from a pool on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach on Saturday, Aug. 3, the Horry County Coroner's Office reports.

Tropical Storm Debby is moving north toward the Myrtle Beach area on Tuesday, Aug. 6, and is expected to bring life-threatening flooding, dangerous storm surge and tropical storm conditions.

Tropical Storm Debby is slowly moving just off the South Carolina coast on Wednesday, Aug. 7, and is expected to make landfall tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
