Section man charged with attempted murder

Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Section Police Department officers responded to a call of a man armed with a hammer on Wednesday. The man would enter residences on Tammy Little Drive in Section, forcing entry into two residences and assaulting two individuals and a dog during the attacks.

UGF announces new Executive Secretary at annual Kickoff Event

The United Givers Fund of Jackson County held their annual kickoff event on Sept. 30. During their event, they revealed that they have hired a new Executive Secretary after the former one had to step down. Jared Dovers will now be the executive secretary for UGF. UGF President Daniel Colon said that they were excited to have Dovers on the job and Dovers would confirm that he will be acting as the executive secretary in addition to his current position as the Scottsboro Public Library Director.
